I’m Steve and I started Crankworkshop.
Established in 2020, it’s a small local business operating out of an awesome bike cave in my garden.
I’ve worked in bike shops for many years, and been obsessed with bikes all my life. While I’m mainly an enduro/trail mountain biker myself, I also dabble in cross-country, gravel and road cycling. My knowledge and expertise are extremely good on all types of bikes and cycling disciplines.
I’m a fully qualified Cytec bicycle technician, my fully stocked professional level workshop can handle everything from simple puncture repairs to full bike builds including wheel building & truing, suspension servicing, bearing servicing, drivetrain servicing and much much more. My meticulous nature and love for tinkering has made me a good mechanic. After working in bike shops for years, as well as fixing all my own bikes as well as many of my friends bikes for many more years I don’t think there’s much I haven’t seen and learnt to fix.
I’m also a former Pro Skydiver and 3-time National Champion, I have 2 Guinness World Records and I’ve done the odd bit of skydiving stunts for TV and even one Hollywood movie, see if you can spot me in Kingsman: The Secret Service.

Security & Insurance
The ‘compound’ that is Crankworkshop is fully secure, both the workshop and the bike storage barn are safe, dry and always kept locked whenever I’m not on site. There is a large entrance gate to the property that’s always locked. The property is covered by CCTV as well as an ADT alarm system covering the workshop and the bike storage barn. Your bike will also be locked securely using ground anchors and chains whenever it’s not being worked on. So you can rest easy that your bike is safe even during an overnight stay.
Crankworkshop has the same level of insurance as any other bike shop in the UK. Your bike is covered for theft from the property as well as any accidental damage that could occur during servicing. Hopefully that won’t happen though!
